A young mariachi singer who received a plethora of abuse on Twitter after singing the National Anthem on Tuesday night at an NBA Finals game returned to the stage Thursday before Game 4 of the playoff series, and received a standing ovation.
Sebastien De La Cruz, 11, first sang the anthem before Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat on Tuesday. Afterward, he received a deluge of racist tweets, many referring to his Mexican ethnicity.
He was invited back to perform before Game 4 on Thursday. See the video below.
