Longtime Boston news anchor and reporter Susan Wornick has announced that she will retire from WCVB-TV Channel 5 next March.
Wornick has been Channel 5's midday anchor since 1989.
Wornick first joined WCVB as a general assignment reporter back in 1981 and was involved in a 1985 court case in which she refused to reveal a source and was threatened with a jail sentence.
She has also served as WCVB's consumer reporter.
An item posted on WCVB's website reports that Wornick plans to stay busy with media projects and continue the charitable efforts for which she is well known.
