On July 28, a parade of runners maneuvered through London's Battersea Park for an annual 5k charity race. Standard weekend behavior, you might think.

Well, think again. These were not your average runners clad in the latest exercise gear, but rather a pack of sumo wrestlers ambling down the course path.

Racers in The Sumo Run donned inflatable sumo outfits and did a group warm up routine before bobbing through the park in a sea of fleshy fabric. The event raised money for Link Community Development, a charity that works in sub-Saharan Africa to improve education quality.

Runners paid a registration fee, either £59 (about $90) or £79 (about $120). With the smaller fee, people were asked to raise a minimum of £200 (about $307) for the charity, and with the larger fee, fundraising was optional.
