During last night's Kids Week on Jeopardy!, Thomas Hurley, eighth grader from Newtown Middle School in Connecticut, made an unfortunate mistake. He was in second place heading into Final Jeopardy answering the final question:

"Abraham Lincoln called this document, which took effect in 1863, 'a fit and necessary war measure."

Thomas knew the answer, but he spelled it wrong. The right answer was "Emancipation Proclamation," but Thomas added a "t" to "Emanciptation Proclamation," and the Jeopardy! judges ruled that it was the wrong answer.

Meanwhile, Skyler Hornback, seventh grader from Kentucky, set the all-time record for kids, $66,600.
