When the warm weather hits Russia, Russians hit the beach. This weekend, people packed the shore near the village Mechnikovo, in that piece of Russia that sits between Poland and Lithuania.
It was a day without incident; that is, until a military-grade hovercraft docked on the crowded beach.
No one was injured as beachgoers cleared space for the 550-ton hovercraft, which apparently docks in the area on a regular basis. A Russian paper reported that the Ministry of Defense owns the beach.
