Did Hillary Clinton create a 'Mean Girls' style burn book after the 2008 election?

It read like a scene from 'Mean Girls.'

A new book by two political journalists that covered the 2008 election alleges that Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign kept a running list of "sinners and saints" -- those who endorsed her and those who turned their back on her to support Barack Obama's candidacy.

In their book, “HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton,” The Hill’s Amie Parnes and Politico’s Jonathan Allen said Clinton wanted to keep track of colleagues she wanted to reward or punish post-election.

"There was a special circle of Clinton hell reserved for people who had endorsed Obama or stayed on the fence after Bill and Hillary had raised money for them, appointed them to a political post or written a recommendation to ice their kid's application to an elite school,” the authors wrote.

Her team laid those names right out in a spreadsheet. In other words, she had her very own burn book (with probably a lot less pink).

How'd hers work? Apparently, each colleague was assigned a grade from 1 to 7, best to worst, respectively. Clinton then used the list to either grant or deny favors asked by her colleagues, depending on how they ranked.

Former Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, who later succeeded Clinton as Secretary of State, reportedly received a grade 7. So did Senator Ted Kennedy.

We're not exactly sure what happened to the burn book. Perhaps she put the past behind her to accept Obama’s request to serve in his cabinet. Perhaps she hopes we do the same since 2016 is just a few short years away.
