Admission to the Museum of Fine Arts is free today in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The MFA will host speakers, tours, interactive art activities, and musical performances that pay tribute to King and his message.
The event will feature a series of speeches delivered at Amalia Pica's Now, Speak!, an outdoor concrete lectern designed to encourage live performance. Mayor Martin J. Walsh is set to speak, as well as Cambridge-native comedian Jimmy Tingle. Walsh is scheduled to deliver his remarks at noon.
You can find a full schedule of events here. The event was underwritten by the Citizen's Bank Foundation. Today is also the last day the museum will host John Singer Sargent's watercolor exhibition.
