One year before he shot and killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, Adam Lanza reportedly called an Oregon college radio station to compare a chimpanzee who attacked a woman in Connecticut to a "teenage mall shooter."

"His attack can be seen entirely parallel to the attacks and random acts of violence that you bring up on your show every week, committed by humans, which the mainstream also has no explanation for," the caller said of the chimpanzee. "I just... don't think it would be such a stretch to say that he very well could have been a teenage mall shooter or something like that."

According to The New York Daily News, who obtained the audio of the call, two former friends of Lanza's confirmed that it was his voice.
