Former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis has joined WBZ-TV as its new security analyst, the station announced Tuesday.
“Ed Davis is widely regarded as one of the top law enforcement figures in the country,” Mark Lund, President and General Manager of CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV and myTV38, said in a public statement.
Davis will provide expert analysis on major regional stories for the station including the trial of the Boston Marathon Bombing suspect Dzokhar Tsarnaev, the Aaron Hernandez case, and also contribute to stories on security surrounding major events in Boston like the July 4th Fireworks Spectacular.
“There is no one who can contribute expert analysis to security and law enforcement coverage the way that Ed Davis will to WBZ-TV News,” said Lund.
Davis spent 36 years working in law enforcement. He is currently a fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University
