More late-night dining options are coming to the Hub. Starting on April 1, food trucks in Copley Square, Boston University, and Northeastern University will begin operating until midnight.
The program is a new initiative by Mayor Martin J. Walsh, who last week announced he was forming a late-night task force to explore keeping bars and restaurants open until 3:30 a.m.
The food truck program was created by Walsh's Mobile Food Truck Committee.
“Food truck owners and customers have been asking for later hours for food trucks, and we've been listening," Mayor Walsh said. "We’ll be looking at this pilot to see if it's something we can expand to more sites."
The trucks participating in the late-night pilot program are:
-BBQ Lamb Brothers
-Chicken and Rice Guys
-Mediterranean Home Cooking
-The Bacon Truck
If the program is successful, the city may expand the it to other locations throughout Boston.
