Former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown is now making serious political moves in New Hampshire. CBS News reports that Brown will launch an exploratory committee to run for US Senate in the Granite State. If he decides to vie for the seat, he would run as a Republican against Democratic incumbent Jeanne Shaheen.

The Associated Press reports that Brown is aggressively courting New Hampshire's political elite.

The longtime Massachusetts resident, having recently relocated to his seacoast New Hampshire vacation home, spent much of the past two weeks calling key New Hampshire Republican officials and influential GOP activists, indicating that he was likely to run and seeking their support. At the same time, Brown’s camp has quietly begun offering paid positions to Republican operatives for a prospective New Hampshire campaign.

On Twitter, Brown has recently voiced support for New Hampshire Republicans.

The stakes on Brown's potential run are high as the GOP pushes for a Senate majority this fall. Some are confident Brown will run, but others remain skeptical given his recent track record.

Last February, Brown angered Massachusetts Republicans when he announced he was not running in the special election to replace John F. Kerry in the US Senate. This was after he had already indicated he would run.
