Unsettled: The kindness of strangers |
![]() |
Tyrone Toliver, one of the six children who traveled from Louisiana to Massachusetts with their mother, Tamara Bernard, and her boyfriend, Ray Garland, sits on a hotel luggage cart piled high with donated items. The family was staying at the Sheraton Framingham, unsure of where they were going to settle, and Tyrone believed no one would remember his 13th birthday. The hotel staff threw a party in his room, with cake, noisemakers and gifts.
