HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A messy winter storm has begun moving through Connecticut, where it’s expected to leave behind a slippery mix of snow and ice.
The storm was dropping snow, sleet and freezing rain in parts of Connecticut by Wednesday night, but forecasters at the National Weather Service predicted it would be mainly rain and sleet after midnight.
They said two or three inches of snow accumulation was possible by the time the storm was over Thursday. Meanwhile, Connecticut state police reported several spin outs and a couple crashes on the slick roads Wednesday night.
A high wind warning was issued along the coast line, with gusts as high as 60 mph predicted.
