PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Providence public schools will reopen on Tuesday after two days off because of a snowstorm.
Schools spokeswoman Christina O'Reilly said Monday night that principals and other staff members have checked all school buildings to be sure they are safe for students to return. She said work would continue Monday night to be sure that walkways, driveways and parking lots are cleared of snow.
She said buses will be carefully monitored Tuesday in case of any delays, and urged parents, students and staff to allow plenty of time for travel.
The schools were closed Friday as the storm struck the region, and stayed closed Monday for cleanup.
