QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — A 16-year-old Quincy boy is being credited with saving the life of a 103-year-old neighbor at the height of the blizzard.
Dylan Hughes was shoveling snow with his father on Saturday morning, and knowing that virtually the entire city was without power, thought he'd better check on the elderly neighbor.
The Patriot Ledger (http://bit.ly/X4ySPE ) reports that Hughes found the woman on the floor of her home ‘‘shivering uncontrollably’’ and possibly suffering from hypothermia.
He called police, but the ordeal wasn’t over.
An ambulance had trouble getting into the woman’s driveway, so Hughes and his dad frantically shoveled a path.
After being treated at Quincy Medical Center, the woman is back at home recuperating.
