PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Weather forecasters say a winter storm moving into Rhode Island is expected to bring 3 to 8 inches of snow, wind gusts of up to 50 mph and possible coastal flooding on Block Island.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the northern part of the state through 1 p.m. Friday. Forecasters expect 4 to 8 inches of wet, heavy snow to fall in northern Rhode Island. The heaviest snow is expected Thursday night into Friday.
The Weather Service says southern Rhode Island will see 3 to 6 inches of snow.
The strongest wind gusts are expected to hit Thursday morning.
No major power outages are reported.
T.F. Green Airport reports a mostly normal flight schedule. No school closings or delays are reported.
