CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Many New Hampshire schools were closed or delayed and many vehicles ran into accidents on slick roads as a winter storm moved through the state Friday.
As the storm hit the Seacoast, the Rye and North Hampton police departments closed Route 1A, which flooded.
State Police in the Bedford area said they responded to 93 motor vehicle crashes, vehicles off the roadway and disabled motorists. Most of the accidents happened on the Everett Turnpike, Interstate 293 and Interstate 93, causing significant traffic delays.
Police said in one of the incidents, a trooper’s cruiser was swiped by a passing driver while he was dealing with an accident. The trooper suffered minor injuries.
