Snow cancels race cards; Aqueduct also shut today

A snowstorm in the Northeast yesterday forced cancellation of racing at thoroughbred and harness tracks in five states.

Racing was canceled after the first race at Aqueduct in New York, while racing was called off altogether at Laurel, near Baltimore, Philadelphia Park, and Penn National in Pennsylvania and Charles Town in West Virginia.

Harness tracks canceling races include the Meadowlands in New Jersey and Yonkers Raceway in New York.

Track officials at Aqueduct also called off today's card, with racing set to resume tomorrow.
