The Blizzard of '78, then and now

Down at the other end of Dolphin Avenue in Revere, these homes and cars on Leverett Avenue were inundated with snow and seawater that washed in from the ocean, more than 1,000 feet away. What made the blizzard of ’78 especially furious was tides that surged 16 feet above normal because of a rare phase in the moon’s rotation and orbit around the Earth, plus hurricane-strength wind gusts.
