What many consider the first weekend of summer is now underway. Although there are clouds and some foggy areas this morning, this will burn away leaving us with a partly to mostly sunny afternoon. It will hot inland and cooler along the coast. Sunday is looking quite nice with cooler temperatures and a few afternoon clouds rolling in. Showers and even a thunderstorm are possible late Sunday night and Monday but Monday will see some sunshine and comfortably warm temperatures and dry overall.

On the satellite this morning we can see some clear sky to our west.(below) Although the day is not starting out perfect it will get better with each passing hour. Humidity levels will also drop during the day. Temperatures will be hot inland moving near the 90F mark in the afternoon around 2-4PM. There is a tiny chance of an inland thunderstorm if temperatures do hit 90F, but if this happens, it will not last long. Overnight cooler and drier air will be with us making for a great night for sleeping. Temperatures in many areas will push down into the 50s by morning.

Sunday
Sunday, I had thought the front would be far to our south down through the mid-Atlantic region. Now it appears the front will start moving back towards us on Sunday, that is a problem as clouds and showers will also try to return. sun.jpgThe good news is that it will take all day for the clouds to increase and the morning looks spectacular. A northeast wind will make it a bit chilly at the beaches. The Red Sox game will be played under sunshine with clouds increasing from the west during the day. It will be in the 70s, but bring plenty of sunscreen. Check out the hour by hour forecast for Sunday below.

Memorial Day
The same front is going to be in our area on Monday. Depending on the exact position of the front will dictate temperature and the frequency of showers. Whenever you get that battle of air masses, clouds and even showers can be the result. memor.jpg I would say right now, we will very close to the front and there will be a lot of clouds, but not much if any showers. Here is how difficult the temperature forecast is for Monday. To the south of this front, it will be humid and near 90F. To the north it will be in the 70s. Right at the front, there will be the most clouds and the greatest chance for showers. The weather from Bourne to Billerica to the Berkshires is going to be highly variable, so be prepared for major swings in the weather and the forecast.

Summary
It's going to be hot and mostly sunny Saturday afternoon, but the chances of any rain look to be near 0%. Sunday is a transitional day from the heat of Saturday to the cloudy day on Monday. Sunday starts clear and ends up cloudy. Monday there is a better chance for more clouds and a few showers mostly at night. Monday is the day the forecast is going to be highly variable. will keep updating the blog throughout the weekend.
