Memorial Day
Super weather next two days, heat wave ends the week
A chilly morning with temperature in the 30s and 40s will transition into the 70s this afternoon under completely sunny skies. Our nasty storm of the weekend is now to the north and we are left with drier and warmer air for the next two days.
These are the longest days of the year with full darkness not even a solid 8 hours. You can see a bit of light just before 9PM and again around 4AM. The next couple of days will provide almost 100% sunshine making up somewhat for what wasn’t a great weekend of weather.

Raw and cold now, but Memorial day looks nearly perfect
Here we are Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start to summer. Did you put your heat on yet? I know this really isn’t what we all want for weather this weekend. However, it’s going to get a lot better. Today is the worst of the three days and Monday is the best. I tweeted this morning that it would be a great idea to get all your “chores” done today and tomorrow morning and then you can enjoy Monday from start to finish. Why not even get the kids lunches ready for Tuesday now and maybe save any perishable stuff for Monday evening. My point is that Monday is going to be so nice; I want everyone to be able to really enjoy the day. If I were on the Cape, I would either come back Sunday night or Monday night so I didn’t have to be staring out the window at a perfect day Monday afternoon.
Raw and chilly this weekend, but also not a washout
You’ve been hearing about the weekend weather for the past few days and by now I am sure you know it won’t be perfect. Cool and wet is the theme for this year’s Memorial Day weekend although it’s not a 3 day washout by any measure. It is rather muggy and warm this morning, colder air will filter into the region during the day. This is going to set up a very chilly pair of days this weekend. Today will end up being the wettest of the next three days with some heavy downpours, especially over southeastern Massachusetts.

Not the greatest of Memorial Day weekends
Memorial day looks better. That’s about all I got this morning in terms of a nice weekend. Unfortunately a slow patterns is going to get stuck over the area for the next several days. Let me go through the next 5 days and explain what will be happening.
FULL ENTRYWind advisories, tornado watches and more make for rough night ahead
Severe weather affecting much of the East Coast this afternoon and will continue overnight. Currently, the heavy rain across the mid-Atlantic region where 1-4" of rain will fall is moving towards the north. This evening, that area will likely see some flooding issues. Locally, winds will continue to increase this afternoon and become gusty from the south overnight. This strong wind will transport very warm and humid air into the region. Temperatures remain around 70F much of the night. You might need to put on the air conditioning again if you don't like sleeping in muggy weather. A tornado watch has just been issued for Berkshire county here in southern New England, and thunderstorms are a distinct possibility in other areas.I'll be updating information about this storm and others in the future on Twitter at @growingwisdom

Super Sunday, unsettled days ahead
The heat and humidity of yesterday has now moved well to our south. The weather today looks nearly perfect with sunshine, low humidity and warm temperatures. Tonight and Monday, the same front that brought our dry weather for today is going to move north, this time, it will bring back the humidity for early next week. Enjoy your Sunday, it's clearly the best one for the next several days.
FULL ENTRYMemorial Day weekend forecast
A very nice Thursday is on the way with sunshine, some humidity, a tiny chance for a shower and warm temperatures. The bigger question on your mind heading into the weekend, besides how bad will traffic be, is the weather. The good news, it's not going to a washout by any means. The bad news, there are still a couple of issues that could spoil a few hours of the three day weekend, especially later Monday.
