JERUSALEM -- Within days of the Israeli-Palestinian summit conference last week in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, the euphoric visions of peace generated by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and President Mahmoud Abbas were dissipating amid Qassam rockets, clan killings, and warnings that only actions, not words, could improve matters.
