American deaths

The Pentagon has released the names of the following US service members killed recently in Iraq and Afghanistan. According to an Associated Press count, at least 3,679 members of the US military have died since the Iraq war began in March 2003. In Afghanistan, at least 416 US personnel have died.

Specialist Camy Florexil, 20, of Philadelphia, on July 24 in Baghdad. Army First Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, Fourth Infantry Brigade Combat Team, First Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Specialist Daniel A. Leckel, 19, of Medford, Ore., on July 25,Baghdad. Army First Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, Fourth Infantry Brigade Combat Team, First Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

Three soldiers were killed on July 26 in Saqlawiyah: Ser geant William R. Howdeshell, 37, of Norfolk, Va.; Specialist Charles E Bilbrey, Jr., 21, of Owego, N.Y.; Specialist Jaime Rodriguez, Jr., 19, of Oxnard, Calif. All were assigned to the Army Fifth Squadron, Seventh Cavalry Regiment, First Brigade Combat Team, Third Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.

Private Michael A. Baloga, 21, of Everett, Wash., on July 26 in Muqdadiyah. Army Sixth Squadron, Ninth Cavalry Regiment, Third Brigade Combat Team, First Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Private First Class Cody C. Grater, 20, of Spring Hill, Fla., on July 29 in Baghdad. Army 407th Brigade Support Battalion, Second Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Staff Sergeant Wilberto Suliveras, 38, of Humacao, Puerto Rico, on July 29 in Taji. Army Second Battalion, Eighth Cavalry Regiment, First Brigade Combat Team, First Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Corporal Sean A. Stokes, 24, of Auburn, Calif., on July 30 Anbar Province. Marine Third Battalion, First Marine Regiment, First Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Corporal Jason M. Kessler, 29, of Mount Vernon, Wash., on July 30 in northern Iraq. Army C Company, Second Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.

Sergeant Stephen R. Maddies, 41, of Elizabethton, Tenn., on July 31 in Baghdad. Army 473d Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar Platoon, Tennessee Army National Guard, Columbia, Tenn.

Private First Class Juan S. Restrepo, 20, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., on July 22 in Korengal Valley. Army Second Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173d Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy.

Private First Class Zachary R. Endsley, 21, of Spring, Texas, on July 23 in Arghendab District. Army First Battalion, Fourth Infantry Regiment, Hohenfels, Germany.

Four soldiers were killed on July 23 in Sarobi District: First Sergeant Michael S. Curry Jr., 37, of Dania Beach, Fla.; Sergeant Travon T. Johnson, 29, of Palmdale, Calif.; Private First Class Adam J. Davis, 19, of Twin Falls, Idaho; Private First Class Jessy S. Rogers, 20, of Copper Center, Alaska. All were assigned to the Army First Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173d Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy.

Two soldiers were killed July 27 near Kamu: Major Thomas G. Bostick Jr., 37, of Llano, Texas; Staff Sergeant William R. Fritsche, 23, of Martinsville, Ind. Both assigned to the Army First Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173d Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy.

First Lieutenant Benjamin J. Hall, 24, of Virginia, on July 31 in Asadabad. Army Second Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173d Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy.
