Missiles kill 10 alleged militants
ISLAMABAD - Suspected US missiles have killed at least 10 alleged militants today in the country’s North Waziristan tribal region, Pakistan officials said.
The attack is the eighth such missile strike in the region bordering Afghanistan in two weeks.
An army official and an intelligence official said the missiles struck the Pasalkot area of the tribal region at about 7 a.m. today.
They said the target was a sprawling compound that has been used as a religious school in the past.
The identities of the dead were not immediately known.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to media on the record.
The United States has dramatically escalated its use of missile strikes in Pakistan since the start of the year.
