A Bangtao village elder, Nui Kwandee Kongtap, cut the ribbon on a volunteer-built playground, symbolizing the reopening of the village. Bangtao, which was devastated by the tsunami, has been taken on as a long-term project by dozens of volunteers under the name Bangtao Recover Project, which funded the playground through donations.
