A newscaster for England’s Sky News apologized today after he began rummaging through luggage found at the crash site of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 during a live broadcast.
Reporter Colin Brazier, seemingly in a moment of clarity, is heard to say “we shouldn’t really be doing this, I suppose, really” and promptly stops after taking a quick inventory of the bag’s contents.
A viewer captured the moment in a Vine post:
“Today whilst presenting from the site of the MH17 air crash Colin Brazier reflected on the human tragedy of the event and showed audiences the content of one of the victims’ bags,” Sky News wrote in a statement. “Colin immediately recognised that this was inappropriate and said so on air. Both Colin and Sky News apologise profusely for any offence caused.”
