Witter wins WBC lightwelterweight title
LONDON --Junior Witter won the WBC light welterweight title, unanimously outpointing DeMarcus Corley on Friday.
The Englishman won at the end of 12 rounds at Alexandra Palace in north London to claim the vacant title. The judges gave scores of 118-112, 117-111 and 116-114.
The 32-year-old Witter (34-1-2), who lost to Zab Judah on penalties in an IBF title bid in 2000.
Corley (31-5-1) is a former WBO junior welterweight champion.![]()
