Man seriously hurt in Carlow crash

A man is in a critical condition in hospital today following a two-car crash in Co Carlow.

The crash took place on the outskirts of Carlow town on the R417 to Athy at around 6.30am. The injured man, who is in his 20s, was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny. A section of the R417 has been closed as a result of the crash. Diversions are in place.
