MOSCOW — Russian news agencies reported this morning that insurgents stormed Parliament and the Agriculture Ministry in Russia’s volatile Chechnya region and that people have died.
Interfax reported deaths in the Parliament complex in the center of the Chechen capital, and special forces were convering on the scene.
Shooting erupted in the office of the speaker of the Chechen Parliament, but he was evacuated safely, the news agency reported, citing a law enforcement source.
Itar-Tass reported that in a separate attack, several gunmen stormed the region’s Ministry Of Agriculture. The news agency cited a ministry source.
