LONDON—Welsh police say a miner has been rescued after getting trapped in rubble following a roof collapse.
The accident comes a month after four miners died in a nearby mine that flooded.
South Wales police said Friday that the 48-year-old man was rescued by colleagues and the Mines Rescue Team at the Unity Mine in Cwmgwrach, Wales.
Police say the man is in the hospital, but that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Welsh health and safety officials say they were informed of the incident and had inspectors at the site to assist police.![]()
