HELSINKI—Some 10,000 office workers in Finland's metals and engineering industry have ended a weeklong strike after accepting mediation by the national conciliator.
The pact is based on a two-year centralized labor contract that will increase wages by 4.3 percent for about 2 million workers agreed by central trade unions and employer organizations last month.
Meanwhile, union leaders say that hundreds of workers in the IT sector have begun selective strikes, mainly in help desk and support services.
The strikes began Monday after the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries rejected a mediation proposal by National Conciliator Esa Lonka.![]()
