Poland's main interest rate unchanged at 4.5 pct
WARSAW, Poland—The National Bank of Poland says it has left its main interest rate unchanged at 4.5 percent even though inflation remains above target.
The bank's Monetary Policy Council has kept the rate unchanged since a hike in June, when it reached its highest level since 2009.
Wednesday's decision was expected as Poland's economic growth is expected to slow down this year from 4.3 percent in 2011 to below 3 percent.
The country's inflation rate of 4.3 percent for 2011 was above central bank's target of 2.5 percent.
