The lies that bind

Rockefeller concocted many phony famous forebears, from German princes to Hollywood starlets. How about this doozie: "I am Christopher Chichester, XIII, that is, the 13th baronet. Our family crest is a heron, its wings spread, with an eel in its beak, and the family motto is 'Firm en foi,' meaning firm in faith," and, "I'm a descendant of Sir Francis Chichester, who sailed around the world in his ketch Gipsy Moth IV in the 1960s."

Rockefeller is seen at his First Communion ceremony as a boy, giving the lie to his claims of being both Quaker and Episcopalian.
