The Twitter account associated with the military wing of Hamas has been suspended.
It was not immediately clear why the @QassamFeed account, operated by the Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades, was shut down.
The group’s homepage reported that its website was “being subjected to intensive attacks,” though moments later the site was entirely down.
A Google cache of the site from Wednesday morning captured a series of typical tweets from the account, including pro-Palestinian sloganeering and (graphic) photos of victims reportedly killed by Israeli bombings.
The group has also taken responsibility for ongoing rocket attacks launched into Israel.
A Twitter spokesperson said that the company does not comment on individual accounts “for privacy and security reasons,” adding the site’s rules and terms of service outline content boundaries on the platform.
