BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb killed three US soldiers when it struck their vehicle in Baghdad, the US military said in a statement today.
The vehicle was hit in the northwestern part of the capital late yesterday, the statement said. There were no further details.
The number of attacks has fallen across Iraq in recent months because of a crackdown on militants, US commanders say, but 22 soldiers have been killed this month.
In total, 3,966 US troops have been killed in Iraq since the 2003 invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein.
