Leominster 38, Fitchburg 22

Leominster broke an early 8-8 deadlock to score the final 14 points of the first half to defeat Fitchburg at Doyle Field. The Blue Devils (7-4) opened the scoring when James Gurley returned a 45 interception off a Connor Lemieux pass just three minutes in. The Red Raiders (1-9) tied the game midway through the second half on Dimitri Brasili's 26 yard sprint followed up by his conversion carry. The remainder of the half belonged to Leominster. Quarterback Garrett DelleChiaie tossed an 8 yard TD strike to Neil O'Connor and just before halftime, the senior hooked up with Jarell Addo for a 50 yard completion down the right sideline to lead 22-8. Fitchburg controlled the clock for nearly the entire third quarter capped off by a Brasili 6 yard scoring run to cut the deficit to 22-16. Brasili (game-high 152 yards on 26 carries) also scored on the conversion run. But Leominster opened the final quarter with a DelleChiaie 29 yard TD pass to Addo. Matt Banchs added the conversion run putting the Blue Devils up 30-16. The two teams would trade a touchdown each to account for the final score. DelleChiaie threw for 155 yards on 9-of-10 passing.
