It was not pretty, but it was a win. Shrewsbury fumbled the ball away four times inside Westboro territory, including twice inside the 10, but the Colonials still managed to escape with a 21-10 win over the Rangers. "We weren't playing with the same focus we did (in last week's win over St. John's), especially in the first half," senior running back Nick Diliberto said. "We played much better in the second half, but we cannot afford to let this happen again." Diliberto played the role of hero for the Colonials (5-1), rushing for 88 of his game-high 119 yards in the second half. Diliberto, a standout on defense, usually gets a handful of carries per game at halfback, but when Zach Dionis went out with a shoulder injury late in the first half, Diliberto saw his role increase. He capped a nine-play, 68-yard drive with a 3-yard run that gave the Colonials a 14-3 lead late in the third quarter. Senior Trevin Kelley added a 5-yard run that made it 21-3 late. Dionis had a touchdown and 67 yards in the first half as the Colonials ran for 238 yards. Quarterback Mike Coggeshall completed 7 of 10 passes for 68 yards. Junior quarterback Dan Orlando completed 5 of 8 passes for 71 yards and scored Westboro's lone touchdown – 1 5-yard run with 5 seconds to play.
