Senior running back Paul Harpin rushed for 186 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries and seniors Will Brodeur and Pierce Desimone set the tone on defense as the host Aztecs (4-1) improved to 2-0 in the Colonial with an impressive shutout of the Vikings (2-3, 1-1). Brodeur got Assabet on the board with a 78-yard interception return, his first pick of the year - Chris Schofield's conversion run made it 8-0. Harpin's 37-yard touchdown run followed by the conversion run from John Stake staked the Aztecs to a 16-0 halftime lead. Harpin scored three TDs in the second half, including runs of 10 and 78 yards in the third quarter. Harpin's final TD came on a 26-yard burst in the fourth quarter, with Santo Frescola capping the scoring with the conversion run. Junior quarterback Kyle Fernandes rushed for 72 yards and was 2 of 3 passing for 36 yards. Fernandes added the conversion run on Harpin's third touchdown. Pierce recorded a team-high 12 tackles from his linebacker position. Junior guard Tyler Charbonneau and senior tackle John Scharland opened holes for Harpin all game, while Stake recorded a fumble recovery on defense.
