Senior defensemen Mark Laskey and Drew Foster combined for a goal and four assists, senior center Mike Charbonneau recorded two assists, and Devyn Levesque made 17 saves as the host Chieftains shut out the Tigers in the opener for both teams at Marlboro's New England Sports Center. Charbonneau and Laskey assisted on the eventual winner by Jake Denaro at 8:10 of the first period. Nashoba added a short-handed goal with 52 seconds left in the second period when Laskey came up with a steal near his own net and hit Charbonneau in stride, who in turn found his sophomore brother, Jack Charbonneau, to make it 2-0. Mike Lengieza and Laskey put the game away with goals at 7:22 and 7:34 of the final period. Tyngsboro's Kyle Normandin made 42 saves, including a sprawling stop on a penalty shot in the third period.
