Junior assistant captain Marc Happy had two goals and added an assist, while Colin Bennie had two assists and now has 99 career points as the No. 2 Mountaineers (3-0-1, 2-0 Quinn) had three goals in the first period and hung on to tip the No. 1 Colonials (3-1-0, 1-1-0) at NorthStar Youth Forum. Jake Strasser made 21 saves for Wachusett — with 15 coming in the final two periods as Shrewsbury cut a 3-0 lead to 3-2 with goals by Nick Franchi and David Belbin (two assists). Dan Quinlivan also had two assists for Shrewsbury, while it was Franchi's first goal of the season. Happy sealed the win with an empty net goal with 20 seconds left after rushing the length of the ice. Ethan Melia relieved Chris Shelby in the Shrewsbury net after the first period and kept the Mountaineers off the scoreboard, making 10 saves. Matt Cappucci and Jack Watkins also scored for Wachusett.
