Aretha Sullivan broke a 61-61 tie with 18 seconds left by sinking a layup and draining a foul shot, and then the Cougars' defense held on to give Main South (7-0, 6-0 Colonial) a win over the host Aztecs (7-3, 5-2). The Cougars shook off foul trouble in the first half that saw them fall behind, 33-29, before rallying with a 20-7 run in the third quarter to take control. Sullivan finished with a team-high 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists, while Sam O'Gara had 17 points, 10 assists and 5 steals and Yanece Gibbs had 11 points, 10 boards and 5 blocks. Junior guard Hunter Drake had a game-high 24 points for Assabet, including six 3-pointers, with 11 points and three 3-pointers coming in the fourth quarter to help the Aztecs rally - Drake also added 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
