Jayna Cormier had a career-high 38 points for the host No. 6 Highlanders and with Doherty leading 48-42 heading into the fourth quarter, the junior forward scored 16 points to seal the win. Cormier added 16 rebounds and 7 blocks, while senior forward Emily Capstick had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists for the Highlanders. Pount guard Tia Conteh had four points and six assists for Doherty. The Highlanders needed those tremendous efforts because the Colonels' junior guard Katherine Edmonds - the leading scorer in Central Mass - had another big game, scoring 35 points and adding 9 rebounds and 5 steals for South (1-6, 0-2).
