Oxford High senior guard Tyler Barrie rolled his left ankle in last Thursday’s Senior Night win over Grafton, putting his status for Sunday’s Clark Tournament Small School quarterfinal against Maynard High in question. “I didn’t know if I was going to be able to play,” Barrie said. “But I was pretty determined.” So determined, in fact, that he carried a bucket of ice around the halls and into the classrooms at school on Friday to soak his swollen ankle every chance he could. Barrie and his teammates, as it turned out, were ready for the Clark. Barrie came off the bench to score a team-high 15 points and pull down eight rebounds to lead the sixth-seeded Pirates to a 52-51 victory over No. 3 Maynard at Kneller Athletic Center. Oxford next faces No. 2 seed Quaboag Regional at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
