Junior Pat Cadden scattered three hits and gave up just one earned run to lead the No. 3 Hawks (3-0) past the No. 10 Panthers (3-1) in the first round of the John Ahearn Tournament at Riverside Park in Hudson. Marlboro notched all three hits and four runs in the third inning, but Cadden settled down and retired the next 12 Panthers in order to seal the win, striking out seven and walking none. Hudson will face Shrewsbury in the final at 2 p.m., while Marlboro will face Shepherd Hill at 11. Kyle Sullivan was 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI for Hudson, while Brian Carter had a two-run triple to key a five-run third inning and give the Hawks a 6-4 lead. Joe Lussier had a two-run triple for the Panthers, while Matt Buroni had an RBI single and scored.
