The fifth-seeded Rams (14-7) scored four runs in the first inning and held off a late rally by the fourth-seeded Colonials (13-8) to win their quarterfinal matchup in Shrewsbury. Shelby Stracher had a two-run double in the first, while Cassidy Colby hit a two-run homer in the sixth to give Shepherd Hill a 7-3 lead. Shepherd Hill will play the winner of Sunday's quarterfinal between Holy Name and Leominster in a semifinal on Tuesday at Worcester State. Kara Brown had three hits while Lauren Pickett, Alicia Zarozney, Natalie Burchat and Amber Melideo each had two hits for Shrewsbury. The Colonials rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull within a run, 7-6.
