The seventh-seeded Cougars (16-6) rallied in the sixth when Madison Messier stroked a one-out double to the gap in right-center, then took third on a bunt single by Ally Sweet and scored the winning run on Danielle Sweet's groundout to second to lift Quaboag. The Cougars will face sixth-seeded Hopedale (16-6) at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Worcester State. Quaboag tied the game in the fifth when Andrea Koslowski led off with a double to center and scored when Nikki Pappas lined an 0-2 pitch up the middle. Danielle Sweet had 12 strikeouts for Quaboag, while Rachel Frisch had 14 strikeouts for second-seeded Worcester Tech (17-4). Sam Matthews had an RBI single in the first to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Worcester Tech had the tying run on second in the seventh inning, but Alli Sweet snared a line drive at short and doubled off the runner to end the game.
