Meredith Frank will get another shot at her mother, Leslie, as Westwood will host Meredith’s Notre Dame Academy squad for the Division 1 South championship on Thursday night. Westwood (22-0) smothered Franklin, 11-2, in the semifinals on Monday night to create the mother-daughter matchup. Since leading the Wolverines to state titles in 2003 and 2005 before enjoying a successful career at Northwestern, Meredith has yet to beat her mom in two tries; Westwood knocked NDA out of the South semifinals last season and earned a 7-4 win earlier this spring. “It’s really awesome,” Leslie Frank said of the family matchup following the Wolverines’ victory Monday. “It doesn’t matter who wins, I’m excited.” Notre Dame Academy enters at 21-2. Monday, the Wolverines were led by four goals from Ela Hazar, a speedy junior with touch around the net. She was supported by senior captain Marina Burke, who was instrumental in the attack, dodging through a tough Franklin defense while scoring twice. "They're a great team and this is where we want to be eventually," said first-year Franklin coach Kristin Igoe, who scored the winner against Westwood as a member of Framingham High's squad in the 2007 state semifinals. Frankin finished at 18-3.
