Auburn High junior running back Mark Wright had a breakout game, scoring four touchdowns and rushing for more than 250 yards, but it was the 35 inches gained by Andrew Markvenas that made the difference. With Auburn clinging to a 28-21 lead in the heat of a fierce comeback bid by visiting Oakmont Regional, Markvenas bulled his way into the end zone from a yard away with 5:07 left in the game to give the Rockets a 35-21 win Friday night at Memorial Field. Auburn improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in Division 5, and rebounded nicely after a blowout loss to Hudson High last week. The Spartans dropped to 0-2, with both losses to Division 5 opponents. Auburn took a 21-0 lead after one half, with Wright accounting for all three touchdowns while racking up 183 rushing yards, and it looked the Rockets were on their way to an easy win. Wright opened the second half with his fourth touchdown of the night, a 7-yard scamper off right tackle that gave the Rockets a 28-0 advantage.
