After West Boylston had tied the game 14-14 with 1:32 left on a 4-yard run by Alex Churchill, Assabetís Marty Henry intercepted an Alex Thomas pass on the conversion attempt and motored 99 yards for two points that proved to be the difference as the Aztecs upended West Boylston in the first Thanksgiving Day game between the schools. Henry also had a 1-yard touchdown run and found Marvin Byrdson for a 23-yard touchdown as Assabet, playing in its first Thanksgiving Day game ever, took a 14-0 halftime lead. West Boylston answered with an Alex Thomas two-yard touchdown run before Churchill's score.
