Shrewsbury's Christa Doiron scored with 5:28 to go in overtime to lift the Colonials past the Tomahawks for the Central Mass. Division 1 title for the second straight year. It's Shrewsbury's fifth title in the last seven seasons. Shrewsbury (16-3-2) was on its heels for most of the second half and overtime, as the Tomahawks (15-5-2), led by Margaret Wraight and Taylor Long, used its speed and skill to control the ball. However, despite the ball control, Algonquin was unable to get anything past the Shrewsbury defense, which blocked a ton of shots and also stopped two penalty corners without a shot attempt in the seconds before Doironís goal sent Shrewsbury on to the state semi. Doironís goal was a work of art. The senior, who is nursing an injury, took the ball on the left side of the cage, stickhandled through three defenders on her way across the field to the right side of keeper Abigail Haskell, and somehow kept her feet before firing a shot just inside the far post to give the Colonials the 1-0 win.
